ABOUT ME
Hailed by Opera News as “manifesting a clear, bright soprano” and singing “brilliantly and sensitively” (Times Argus), Andrea Baker recently debuted the role of Donna Anna with Tec de Monterrey/Teatro Gratticelo and Marzelline in Fidelio at Opera Company of Middlebury. This season, Andrea will debut the role of Mimì in La bohème with Wichita Grand Opera, and Violetta in La traviata with Anchorage Opera. Earlier this year, Andrea was awarded the first-place prize in the Edward M. Murray International Competition with Opera Ithaca and the third-place prize in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition in 2022. In early 2020, Andrea sang the role of Donna Elvira with Pensacola Opera where she was an Artist in Residence during the 2018-2019 season. While there, she covered the roles of Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Rosalba in Florencia en el Amazonas, and was the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. Andrea has covered the roles of Liù in Turandot and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at Des Moines Metro Opera and the role of Marzelline in Fidelio at Sarasota Opera. Other operatic roles include Alice Ford (Falstaff), First Lady (The Magic Flute), Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) and Musetta (La bohème).
